We got the blues...

Tonight, Tori, Victoria and I had a "prayer meeting" (at least that's what we're calling it) that involved hair turning blue! Not sure how that qualifies as "prayer" but we had a great time laughing and sharing stories of camps past. We cannot wait for Submerge!
I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Amazing chicks! I just love them!

Torches & freedom!

3...

Today I found the coolest verses that, although they are Isaiah praying for Israel, I believe apply to us as leaders...

Isaiah 61:1-2
“I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory.”
I thought this applied to us because we should be praying for righteousness that shines like the dawn for all of our students. We should be crying out for salvation that BLAZES like a burning torch...not a flickering flame or a spark...but a TORCH that cannot be put out! Our students should look like that kid above! Like an inferno! That is only a blip of my thoughts on that verse. Not enough time or space to put it all....

Then on the way to the office from prayer, I saw this van with 3 female prisoners behind it picking up trash. The revelation I had was this: those ladies have no freedom. They are bound by their consequences and picking up trash. We have students just like that picking up spiritual trash and in desperate need of freedom! God, send Your FREEDOM!!!

Father, I pray for freedom for our students. Begin breaking down walls, shattering the shackles that bind. Let nothing less than an explosion of Your love come in and free them/us. Lord, let their salvation burn bright and their righteousness light up the night sky! Let freedom ring in the sweet precious name of Jesus!!

Summer session, camp...

First, I'd like to say Happy Father's Day to all you cool dad's out there! Especially to Doug - the best one I know!

7 more days until camp!

Oh my gosh! I cannot wait until we leave. I am so ready for a break from the ordinary and to experience the extraordinary. I am amazed at God's love, mercy and grace...at His hand over my life. I am so very thankful for all that HE continually does in my world.

This morning I had the honor to teach some of our world changers! I am astonished at the amount of knowledge these kids have. They are going to rock this world...mark my words. God is preparing and raising a generation like no other. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of what's going on...my life is so blessed by these amazing students!

I guess my question is "what am I expecting from camp?" If you are going, "what are you expecting?"

Father, bless these students. Teach them from Your heart. Let this summer be a summer they never forget. A transformation summer where there's no turning back from Your call. Let it be the summer that life will never be the same from Your touch...Your love being poured into their lives... I love You Father and am ever grateful for the opportunity to see Your work in progress. Thanks for teaching me through each one of these students! And then there is camp...Jesus, show up in a massive way at camp. Reek havoc on satan's deceiving thoughts, his plans and his hold on our youth. Wreck his plans, Lord! Tear down walls of insecurity, bust through gates of shame, break shackles of abuse...POUR YOUR LOVE OUT! Let girls see their beauty! Let everyone receive so much Lord that they ooze Your presence and leave Your fingerprints on every thing they come into contact with at camp and back at home. Let it not be confined to their hearts, but rather let it be explosive! Uncontainable! Let them be nothing less than Your heavenly reflection! I cannot wait to see what You have planned this year! I love You Lord! Be my fortress!

Distractions

10...

I've noticed one recurring thing lately...the closer it gets to camp, the louder and bigger the distractions in my life are becoming. My iPod broke, my phone has been acting up (although that doesn't surprise me), my schedule at work has been getting crazier by the day, my cruise control went out on my car, I have had a lot of distractions at home keeping me from studying... Seems like Satan must be a little nervous. I am determined to stay the course! I intend to receive...I will receive like never before at camp!

Father, I want to grow closer to You! I want You to show up in a massive way this summer to impact my life and every student, staff & volunteer that comes from every direction. I want You to show up so much that it effects the people staying at the condos & houses leading them closer to You...when they only thought they were "just going on vacation". Father, I love You and need You. Strengthen me! Be my rock!

Here are some cool pics of Miley. (I know, I couldn't help myself!) She's starting to enjoy taking a bath. I love seeing her little face, especially when she graces us with the occasional smile! She's so sweet!

Polished to shine!

17...

Here's a quote from a fortune cookie that I thought was worth sharing:

A rolling stone gathers no moss...but it obtains a certain polish!

So if you are facing some adversity in your life, know that you are being polished to shine like no other!
