Round and round and round...

Last night we had Banzai Blitz! Woo Hoo! I, of course, hang out with the coolest Banzai group: Banzai6! We ended up doing a relay where you lean over with your forehead touching a stick or something, and spin around it many times. Then you attempt to run straight (not an option for me) to loop around something and run back to your team. I provide zero help other than comic relief for my team. I got to thinking, why do some people really get dizzy while others do not. The answer may be more than you want to know, but since I am a visual person, I need enough details to paint a picture for me to get the answer. I thought it was intersting and found this answer on http://www.sciencebuddies.org/mentoring/project_ideas/HumBeh_p025.shtml. Hope this is acurate. Here you go:

Sensation of motion primarily comes from a series of fluid-filled tubes within the vestibular system called the semicircular canals. These small, enclosed loops embedded within both sides of the skull help us sense the direction, angle, and speed we are moving whether we're going up, down, forward, backwards, or turning in circles. The semicircular canals detect motion using the fluid inside the canals and microscopic hair-like nerve endings that line the inner surface of the canals. When we are sitting still, the fluid and hairs are basically at rest. When we begin a motion like a turn, the liquid begins to sway inside the loops and triggers the hairs to send nerve signals to regions of the brain that recognize and interpret the initial motion. As we continue to turn, as in a series of rapids spins, the fluid picks up speed (angular momentum) within the canals and, because of inertia, continues to move and send signals to the brain even after we have come to an abrupt stop.

Works for me. Learned something new today!

Passion & Purpose Women's Conference

2007

Well...I have returned. WOW! 25,000+ women under one roof was crazy! I don't even know where to begin..... I will compose myself over the next few days, find a few of the main points from my 22 pages of notes to share and be back. I cannot figure out how to get the video on here or the pictures from Joyce Meyer's website, but if you go to the link above, you can see the convention highlights (which are awesome) and the photos there. I will post some of our own later.

All I can say is every speaker was great, the message was incredible, and the worship was AMAZING! Definitely an event full of passion & purpose! We were literally 2-3 blocks from the dome...what a blessing! Get your seat belt on because the message was strong! Be back soon!

What do these have in common?

Give?? I'll tell you...purpose&passion! It's the 25th annual women's convention, and I cannot wait!!!! These are absolutely some of my favorite speakers, and I'm ready to receive, receive, receive! I'll be sure to tell you all about it (until you are probably sick of hearing about it) when I return!

Do you know what your purpose is? your passion? If not, I challenge you to dig in and find out!

Sparkle...

Sparkle is about to take off! I am so pumped about this year! The thing I keep hearing for this year is God just wants us to love ourselves as we are...the way He created us. He made us all different for a reason, a different purpose. Find your purpose and run with it! Don't run away from it! Have passion in your purpose. If you don't, no one else will. You are unique and precious (if you are a guy, I'm sure God thinks you are precious even if it doesn't sound all masculine!). Just look around. Thank you Lord for making us different. If He had made us all the same, this earth would be so boring. Boring is definitely something Sparkle will not be! Anything but boring!

I love when we just get together and worship like at One Way! I believe those are some of my favorite moments. I cannot wait to worship in Heaven! I imagine this is only a drop in the bucket of what worship is about! But it's still GREAT! Elton's song was awesome. The songs were great! Loved it!
