Where's the sun?!

Well, it's official. I am sick of the overcast and rainy weather. God please send some sunshine! I miss it!!!!!

Getting ready for Sparkle to start back up! Cannot wait!!!! We are planning some neat stuff! See you soon!

CONSUMING Passion

I was driving to work this morning as usual listening to music! I love that!! There was a line in one of the songs that kinda stopped me in the middle of belting out the lyrics (I can do that when I'm by myself - no one to run off with the terrible singing voice!). It said something like "give me CONSUMING PASSION". Those two words started a flood of thoughts.

CONSUMING PASSION... Consuming! Like wildfire that is unquenchable. Like a river with rapids. Like winds from a hurricane! Something that isn't affected but is the one that affects things around it. I think I'll chew on this for a while today. Consuming Passion... Someone so in love with Jesus that the passion within consumes every part of them. I want that! What kind of passion does God expect from me? What kind of passion do I have? Am I an influencer (is that even a word?) to those around me or am I only affected by others???? Hmmmm...

God, I want CONSUMING PASSION. Fill me until I overflow! Passion that is pleasing to You. Let me not be a people pleaser, but a people influencer. Let them see You when they look my way. Let me only be the shadow behind you, silent and following You every place You go unaffected by anything but the Son! I love You and need You today. You are my Everything! In Jesus Name!!

What a way to kick off 2007!

We went to St. Martinville for the Elevate Retreat and stayed at a beautiful place called Lake Fosse State Park (I think that's what it was called). The place was a little flooded, but what I didn't know is that it was a foreshadow of how the Holy Spirit was going to flood us! Some of you may know that I made my declaration to be closer to God by the end of the year than when the year began. God wasted no time in starting to fullfill that request! It was by far amazing! Chad Daniel led the retreat... Enough said! Lawrence and Elton and the rest of the band did an AWESOME job leading worship as expected!

Then, we come back for Perry Stone! I am in awe at how God just puts things together. This could have no more be precisely planned by Him. The retreat flowed directly into Perry Stones message, and then the Sunday night service was the icing on the cake! WOW - what an amazing weekend! I am so thankful to be a part of what's going on in Elevate and HPC. This program has been so instrumental in shaping my life and guiding me in my calling. I just love this place! And I LOVE JESUS!! No better place to be!
